Red Cross- Individual Assistance

The deadline to sign-up for Red Cross Individual Assistance has been extended to July 14th for Marion County.

The Red Cross assesses the individual needs of each impacted household and provides recovery assistance, including financial assistance, recovery planning, and/or referrals to community partners. The Red Cross is working to get immediate financial assistance into the hands of residents whose homes were severely impacted by flooding. Red Cross damage assessment teams have been in communities to determine if homes received major damage or were destroyed.


Households must apply for the program by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS to schedule an appointment with a representative.


Governor Morrisey- Housing Assistance Fund

The WVHDF is already administering the Emergency Rental Assistance Program with funds from the U.S. Department of the Treasury. This program can be used to assist with certain housing related expenses incurred through September of 2025 by victims of recent flooding.

After five days of advertised flood debris removal, all debris removal requests have been completed.

Fairmont Board of Realtors

Fairmont Board of Realtors has received grant money for flood victims experiencing property damage to their home.

If you had any damage and filled out information on the google form that was previously on this webpage, you will be receiving an application at the email you provided. (Please allow time to receive, there is only one person processing the information and sending out applications.)

If you are unable to fill the form online and email or have questions, please reach out to Katie Stewart at 304-816-7544 by text or call. She has paper/digital copies of the application, can assist you with completing the application, and help get it submitted.

If you didn’t provide information earlier but still need assistance, there are applications at Christ Episcopal Church during the supply pick up day and times this week.

After Saturday, June 28, 2025, you will need to contact Katie Stewart to obtain an application. Only one application per household.

Photo ID showing proof of residency
Copy of Mortgage Statement or Lease Agreement/Letter from Landlord or Hotel Receipt (if displaced), or 2024 Tax Ticket (if home is owned outright)

One of the following is required to Show Proof of Damage to your Primary Residence

Copies of Written Claims, Settlement Proceeds or Claim Status Reports
Copies of Repair Estimates from Contractors

The Supply Distribution Site is now closed. Over 300 families visited the sites over the course of two weeks.

Emergency Shelter- Fairmont State University

The Emergency Shelter at Fairmont State officially closes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20th. All those that were housed in the shelter have been transitioned to temporary or permanent housing. Thank you to all who helped operate the shelter from Sunday-Friday.


Special Saturday Hours- Cleaning Supplies

Volunteers will be at the Public Safety Building on Saturday, June 21 from 9:00 to 1:00 p.m. to help with cleaning supplies. If you are still in need of supplies, please stop by. Thank you to the amazing volunteers for helping us add these additional hours.


Home/Property Damage Assistance

Do you have property damage form the flood? Fairmont Board of Realtors will have some funding for those affected by recent flooding. Please fill out the survey at the following link. Only one submission per household. We will communicate through email after submission.

Emerge- Activities for Kids/Families

We will be open Tuesday-Friday from 12-6 pm and will offer free crafting projects and board games, along with our kids’ area for play to those affected and who need a place to come.

Come to the Advanced Technology Center (500 Galliher Dr., Fairmont, WV) to collect what you need. We'll have:

- Flood buckets

Cooling Station- Family Resource Network

To offer a space to regroup and recharge, our office will be open as a cooling station on Wednesday 6/18 from 10 AM to 3 PM. We will be closed on Thursday 6/19 and Friday 6/20.
