Tygart Valley United Way is grateful to announce the receipt of a generous $30,000 gift from Christ Episcopal Church of Fairmont in support of its 2025 fundraising campaign. The gift was presented on December 7, 2025, and will help strengthen vital programs and services across the region.
“The needs in our communities continue to grow, and this extraordinary gift from Christ Episcopal Church comes at a truly critical time,” said Brett White, CEO of Tygart Valley United Way. “Their leadership and generosity reflect a deep commitment to caring for neighbors and investing in solutions that help people not just get by, but truly thrive. This is collective impact in action.”
Reverend Dean Lawrence and members of the Vestry of Christ Episcopal Church were present for the check presentation. Reverend Lawrence emphasized the importance of working together to meet increasing community needs.
“We see the need every single day,” said Reverend Lawrence. “There are always individuals and families who need help, and we know we can make a far greater impact when we come together as a community. Partnering with United Way allows us to extend our reach and ensure support gets where it is needed most.”
Christ Episcopal Church hopes its gift will inspire other congregations, businesses, and organizations to consider making a pledge to support the United Way campaign.
Tygart Valley United Way currently supports 42 programs operated by 30 health and human service organizations serving Marion, Randolph, Barbour, Taylor, and Tucker counties. The organization’s 2025 campaign goal is $605,000 and is currently 57 percent complete.
