EFSP- Phase 37 Funds Available

MARION AND TAYLOR COUNTIES HAVE BEEN AWARDED FEDERAL FUNDS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)/FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY UNDER THE EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER NATIONAL BOARD PROGRAM THROUGH PHASE 37 OF THE PROGRAM.

Marion County will receive $26,519 and Taylor County will receive $7,920 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the counties.

The selection was made by a National Board that is chaired by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and consists of representatives from The Salvation Army; American Red Cross; Jewish Communities; Catholic Charities, USA; National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A.; and, the United Way of America. The Local Board is charged to distribute funds appropriated by Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs in high-need areas around the county.

Agencies interested in applying should visit the United Way website at http://go.uwmtc.org/efsp.  All applications are due by 12:00pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.  Agencies do not have to be a United Way agency to apply.
