Christ Episcopal Makes $57,000 Gift

On November 27, 2018, know across the globe as Giving Tuesday, the United Way of Marion County received a $57,886.52 gift from Christ Episcopal Church of Fairmont, WV. “The need is great in Marion County and the United Way is incredibly fortunate for such generosity from Christ Episcopal Church. The leadership and giving Christ Episcopal displays in this donation is a testament to the Church’s commitment to our community,” said Tina Shaw, the 2019 Campaign Chair.

Reverend Jordan Trumble, and parishioners Mike Lawson and Toni Balenger represented Christ Episcopal Church during the check presentation. "We see what the need is every day. There are continually people who need help and we know that we can be of more help in a group, not just as individuals, but working together with the community and United Way is a great way to do that," Reverend Trumble said when asked about the pledge. Christ Episcopal Church is hoping that other churches and organizations in Marion County will be inspired by this pledge to make a pledge as well.

United Way Executive Director Brett White said, “The United Way of Marion County is greatly appreciative of the support and generosity shown by Christ Episcopal Church. We are so fortunate to have their caring congregation in our community.”

The United Way of Marion County supports 22 health and human service organizations throughout Marion County. The goal for the current fundraising campaign is $475,000. The drive is currently at 68%.
